Mark Francombe originally came to Norway from England, as a musician in the influential «dream-pop» band Cranes in 1993. Finally moving to Oslo in 1997.
As a film-maker, he works with training films for business but also makes dark experimental «Lo Fi» films, that often use time-lapse or obscure-animation techniques.
He is an sculptor. He makes what he calls «Kipple», a term derived from Philip K. Dick, meaning detritus and ephemera, that is also reminiscent of Mexican magic, «day of the dead» and tacky versions of the boxes of Joseph Cornell.
